Terms of service

Effective

These terms are the agreement between you and Offmap. They cover what Offmap does and does not do, what the monthly pass costs, how to cancel it, and when you get your money back.

Offmap is run by Mohammad Taha Zakir and Farrukh Masood, as individuals. When these terms say “we”, they mean the two of us. Write to [email protected] about anything here, and either of us will answer. How we handle your data is in the privacy policy, which is part of these terms.

What Offmap does

Offmap reads your resume and shows you startups that may want someone like you, with the public evidence behind each one: a posting, a funding announcement, the company’s own words. For each company it can suggest a person to write to and draft an email for you.

Offmap never sends email for you. It writes a draft. You copy it, edit it, and send it yourself from your own account, and what you send is your responsibility.

Offmap does not promise you a job, an interview or a reply. It also does not promise that any company will sponsor a visa. Every claim we show names its source and a date. A company can change its plans after that date, and we can be wrong about a company. Check anything that matters to you before you rely on it.

Your account

Plans and prices

Offmap has a free plan and a paid monthly pass. What each one includes, and its monthly limits, is listed on the pricing page.

During early access, the monthly pass costs $9.99 a month. When early access ends, it will cost $14.99 a month for new buyers. If you buy the pass during early access, you keep the price of $9.99 a month for as long as you keep the pass. If you cancel and buy it again after early access has ended, the price at that time applies. Prices are in US dollars. Sales tax or VAT is added where the law requires it, and is shown before you pay.

Payments are handled by Polar (polar.sh), which sells the pass to you as our reseller and merchant of record. Your card statement will name Polar. We never see or store your card number.

If Offmap reaches its own daily spending limit, drafting can pause until the next day, on the free plan first and on the pass only after a higher limit. A pause does not use up your monthly allowance.

Renewal and cancelling

The pass renews every month, on the date you first bought it, until you cancel. Each renewal charges the card you paid with.

You can cancel at any time from your Profile page, or by writing to [email protected]. You keep the pass until the end of the month you have paid for, and you are not charged again. Your account then moves to the free plan. Your profile, drafts and tracker are kept.

If we change the price of a pass you hold, we will tell you at least 15 days before your next renewal at the new price, so you can cancel first.

Refunds

If you ask within 3 days of your first payment, we refund it in full. You do not need to give a reason. Write to [email protected] from the address you signed in with. The refund goes back to the card you paid with, and your account moves to the free plan.

Renewals are not refunded. Cancelling stops the next one. If we charged you by mistake, or charged you twice, we refund that charge whenever you tell us.

Nothing here limits a right to a refund that the law where you live gives you.

Using Offmap fairly

Offmap shows you real people at real companies so you can write to them about your own job search. In return you agree:

If you break these rules we can suspend or close your account. If we close a paid account for this, we do not refund the current month.

What belongs to whom

Your resume, your profile and the emails you send are yours. You let us use them only to run Offmap for you, as the privacy policy describes. Drafts we write for you are yours to use, change and send.

Offmap itself (the software, the company research, the rankings and the way they are put together) belongs to us. Your plan lets you use it for your own job search, and for nothing else.

Ending the agreement

You can stop at any time by deleting your account from your Profile page. Deleting your account cancels a pass, but does not refund it unless the refund rules above apply.

We can stop offering Offmap. If we do, we will tell you at least 30 days ahead and refund any month you have paid for but not received.

Limits on our responsibility

Offmap is provided as it is, and as available. To the extent the law allows, we make no promise that it will be accurate, uninterrupted or suited to your purpose, beyond what these terms say.

To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for indirect losses, such as a missed opportunity or lost earnings, and our total responsibility to you is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Some places do not allow these limits. Where they do not, they apply only as far as the law permits.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Pakistan, where both of us live. If you are a consumer, this does not take away any protection that the consumer law where you live gives you.

Changes

If we change these terms we will update the date at the top. If a change affects a pass you have already paid for, we will tell you before it takes effect, and you can cancel and get back what you paid for the time you have not used.
